The Nebbiolo, vine used for the production of the famous Barolo and Barbaresco, finds its historical setting exceptionally in this small area of the Monferrato. Only the best hillsides of four municipalities (Albugnano, Pino d'Asti, Castelnuovo Don Bosco and Passerano Marmorito) produce Nebbiolo grapes destined for Albugnano wine, a very limited production. With a color from a ruby red to a more or less intense garnet, it develops delicate aromas from raspberry to wild strawberry and slight floral and spicy notes, more complex if aged in oak barrels. The dishes, recommended as a combination, are tasty meats and aged cheeses.
